Why I Joined Observo AI - Brendan Dalpe
It's official! I'm excited to announce that I have joined Observo AI as the founding sales engineer. This is an amazing new opportunity for me to build a sales engineering organization from the ground up.
Before joining Observo AI, I spent the last year building a startup organization as the Chief Technology Officer, leading product development and delivering professional services to our customers. We were laser-focused on creating a new professional services delivery methodology through fractional consulting resources and building an innovative managed services experience that could scale efficiently.
Jumping back one year, I wrapped up a 3-year stint at Cribl in a Sales Engineer role and then a Technical Marketing Engineer role. My time at Cribl was very rewarding, and I was able to solve some tough challenges. If you ever saw a demo of Cribl, used the Sandbox training platform, or came to a trade show or CriblCon, you saw some of my work in action.
I'm no stranger to big data. Before Cribl, I spent multiple years delivering professional services as part of a value-added reseller (VAR) specializing in Cyber Security. Helping customers with tools like endpoint detection and response (EDR) and next-generation firewalls (NGFW), I saw first-hand the need for telemetry/observability pipelines. The volumes of data and complexity at the time pale compared to some of the deployments I've worked on since then.
So why Observo AI? I see many parallels to my time at Cribl. While Observo AI doesn't yet match the complete feature set of a mature platform like Cribl, it provides a solid foundation for addressing key use cases. It's not the functionality today that sold me; it's the journey to become the next Observability platform that excites me. We start by focusing on solving problems with modern solutions. Observo AI is developed using high-performance languages like Rust and GoLang. The platform offers seamless scalability through a microservices architecture. Machine learning is pivotal in data processing, enabling real-time anomaly detection and sentiment analysis within the stream which results in much deeper data optimization than existing tools.
The technology is cutting-edge, and with a second-mover advantage, we can build something that solves complex problems for our customers. The co-founders, Gurjeet and Ricky, have a pedigree that highlights the knowledge and experience required to take a company from an idea to a well-known platform.
As we journey into 2025, I'm excited to work for an organization that aims to tackle petabyte-scale challenges and give customers actionable insight into their data.
Let's go Observo AI!
